The recent dust up regarding the MZM and the White House is being treated by the media as a singular event, an example of corruption where the White House dropped some stitches by allowing individuals to occupy positions where there was potential conflict. How charmingly naïve of those who populate the Print and Ether Estates. You have to expect this of the media; they, along with most Americans, see what they are most comfortable seeing. But the failure to understand the functional behavioral strategies illustrated by this latest dropped stitch on the part of Bush, Rove and Co. leave those of us who depend on understanding these dynamics at even further risk.
You would think that the mounting price tag of this Administration would have caused some one to consider how it is happening. The 'business' done by manipulations through government produces monumental amounts of money, redirected from honest commerce to dishonest profits. But in fact, while I have been patiently waiting for someone to point this out I am now tired of waiting and so will do it myself. The Ominous Parallels, with no apologies to Leonard Peikoff, the author of the book by the same title, are to frightening to be ignored. The only was to avoid the consequences is to understand what is happening and what changes of infrastructure will work to disallow this mounting trend to continue.
All of us learn best through watching and copying behavior. That is the medium responsible for the success of the NeoCons. As a behavior seen on the playground is picked up and used quickly so happens in the boardrooms and bedrooms of life. Deceit, manipulation, and the use of force are now endemic to politics and the most profitable edge of business in America. April 22, 1970 – Oil Day: Wake up and smell the fumes.

A successful take over of the then nascent environmental movement by big oil began during the months from late 1966 until the end of 1967. At that point in time the issues of clean water and accountability for those who pollute were non-partisan, the present partisan divisions did not exist. Clean air and water were things that everyone agreed were necessary; liability for polluting must be exacted. “If you pollute, you pay,” was the first point on the agenda intended for consideration at the 1972 Stockholm Conference for the Environment according to Helen Garland, an early activist. What happens when an ordinary guy realized that the business that puts food on the table is killing people? Some people just stay the course; change is difficult for all of us. We have all seen that happen, especially today.
Sometimes the individual confronts the truth and walks away, ignoring the past, to restart their life. We have seen that, too.
Sometimes the individual becomes a whistle blower, making a living by exposing what they and others have done. That also happens and we have seen careers start in just that way.
And sometimes, even more rarely, an individual will confront that truth and decide that they need to take responsibility for changing things.
That is Steve Tvedten. Steve was a prosperous producer of pesticides when he realized that what he was selling was killing people. Those people included his uncle and unborn son.
Steve looked into his own heart and sold the company. He also changed the mission and focus of his entire life.
Tvedten worked tirelessly to ban Chlordane and wrote several books including The Bug Stops Here, The Best Control and the Best Control II and has developed (self-help) Professionally Guided Pest Control programs to safely and permanently control and/or eliminate pests: roaches, fleas, all wood destroying organisms (decay fungi and insects), rodent and miscellaneous pests. Remember how Charlie Brown always fell for it when Lucy held the football? The “Oh Noooooo! You can't fall for that AGAIN!” moment occurred to me again this morning when I saw the Joseph Farah article about light bulbs. Of course, Farah is the one who makes money writing this kind of drivel.
It is simply amazing when one person can be wrong twice in the same article, especially having noted that the problem is, in his own words “command-and-control fascism.” Of course there is. So why does he continue to fall for it?
If there is a fascist agenda it behooves him to think the implications through, instead of launching into blather that so well serves those same CorporaState types, addicted multigenerationally to getting their greedy hands on our money. MORE

I first met Helen in 2000. The friend who introduced us warned me we would agree on nothing. I am a Republican and then was very active in the National Federation of Republican Women. Helen Garland is a Democrat and very liberal. She personally put together the people who founded Earth Day, introduced Margaret Mead to environmentalism, and has spent her life working tirelessly for peace, justice, and care of the Earth.
